Our provider scoring system is designed to give you objective, data-driven insights into each platform's strengths and maturity.

Overview

Each provider receives:

  • Final Score (0-100): Weighted average of all metrics
  • Individual Metric Scores (0-100): Category-specific evaluations
  • Rank: Position relative to all other providers

API Provider Metrics

1. Platform Maturity Score (25% weight)

Evaluates technical stability and feature completeness:

  • API design quality and RESTful compliance
  • Documentation depth and accuracy
  • SDK availability across languages
  • Version management and backward compatibility
  • Error handling and status codes
  • Rate limiting and throttling mechanisms

Scoring Criteria:

  • 90+: Production-ready, enterprise-grade
  • 70-89: Stable with minor gaps
  • 50-69: Functional but evolving
  • Below 50: Early stage or incomplete

2. Ecosystem Scale Score (25% weight)

Measures community and integration breadth:

  • Active developer community size
  • Number of integrations and partnerships
  • Third-party tool availability
  • Marketplace presence
  • Community contributions (open source, plugins)
  • Conference presence and educational resources

Scoring Criteria:

  • 90+: Dominant ecosystem, extensive integrations
  • 70-89: Strong community, solid integration support
  • 50-69: Growing ecosystem, key integrations
  • Below 50: Limited ecosystem, niche focus

3. Business Model Score (25% weight)

Assesses commercial viability and accessibility:

  • Pricing transparency and predictability
  • Free tier availability and limits
  • Enterprise options and SLAs
  • Support quality and response times
  • Contract flexibility
  • Value for money

Scoring Criteria:

  • 90+: Excellent value, flexible pricing, strong support
  • 70-89: Good options, reasonable pricing
  • 50-69: Basic options, some limitations
  • Below 50: Restrictive or unclear pricing

4. Financial Momentum Score (25% weight)

Evaluates company stability and growth:

  • Funding history and investor quality
  • Revenue trajectory
  • Market traction and customer growth
  • Strategic partnerships
  • Innovation pipeline
  • Market position

Scoring Criteria:

  • 90+: Strong growth, solid funding, market leader
  • 70-89: Stable growth, proven traction
  • 50-69: Early traction, emerging player
  • Below 50: Unproven or struggling

MCP Provider Metrics

1. Platform Capability Score (35% weight)

Technical implementation quality:

  • Protocol compliance and standards
  • Feature completeness
  • Performance and scalability
  • Security implementation
  • Documentation quality

2. Ecosystem Momentum Score (35% weight)

Adoption and community:

  • User base size and growth
  • Integration partners
  • Community contributions
  • Industry recognition

3. Strategic Positioning Score (30% weight)

Market position and direction:

  • Competitive differentiation
  • Innovation leadership
  • Partnership strategy
  • Long-term vision

Data Sources

Our scores are based on:

  1. Public Documentation: API specs, feature lists
  2. Community Feedback: Developer reviews, GitHub activity
  3. Market Analysis: Funding data, news, partnerships
  4. Technical Testing: API testing where applicable
  5. Industry Reports: Analyst assessments

Update Frequency

  • Scores reviewed quarterly
  • Major updates trigger re-evaluation

Limitations

Our scoring is:
